The Sustainability Report 2022 explores the many ways in which the EBRD worked over the course of the year to prepare its regions for a stronger, more resilient and sustainable future. It details how the Bank responded to multiple crises, including the impact of the invasion of Ukraine, and the global emergencies of climate change and biodiversity loss.

Sustainability Report 2021

The Sustainability Report 2021 explores the many ways in which the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has had an impact this year, making a real difference to the daily lives of millions of people on three continents. 2021 was a milestone year for environmental and social sustainability and the EBRD was proud to contribute to global efforts to address climate change, project nature and advance equality. Sustainability Report 2020

The Sustainability Report 2020 explores the many ways the EBRD created impact during the year, making a real difference to the daily lives of millions of people across three continents. It details the Bank’s significant operational support for sustainable development. In 2020, the EBRD responded quickly and flexibly with its Solidarity Package to support clients and economies affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Through our Strategic and Capital Framework for 2021-25, we laid the foundations to further enhance this work, and we put in place the next phase of our Green Economy Transition approach. The contents of this report were guided by consultation with stakeholders and staff to assess what information they deemed material. The 2023 edition also covers topics that are not widely considered material, but which give a fuller picture of our approach to sustainability. More information on the environmental and social impact of the Bank’s investment and policy engagement activities this year is provided in this year’s Sustainability Report 2023.

GRI Report 2020

This is the EBRD’s first stand-alone GRI Disclosure Report. The Bank has applied the Global Reporting Initiative Standards to structure its content. Most of the information has previously been published by the Bank in other forms, including on our website and in our annual Sustainability Report. It is intended that this disclosure will enable stakeholders to gain a comprehensive overview of the EBRD’s approach to environmental, social and governance issues in one place. Additional information on the environmental and social impact of the Bank’s investment and policy engagement activities this year is provided in the EBRD’s Sustainability Report 2020. The contents of this report were guided by the results of a public survey of stakeholders and staff to assess the information that is deemed material. This included consultation with relevant EBRD staff and a survey of stakeholders. The material topics are listed on page 19. This report also addresses a number of additional topics that are not widely considered material but which provide a fuller picture of the EBRD’s sustainability approach.
