Project Description

The EBRD is considering providing a €75 million loan to Société Générale Splitska Banka under a Partnership for Growth facility. The facility is designed to support the bank’s growth strategy in Croatia focusing on SMEs and expanding outreach to wider regions in Croatia . The loan will be extended in three tranches to support the bank’s lending operations in the next three years.

Transition Impact

This Project will promote private sector development by supporting an important player on the Croatian financial market to expand its operations and increase lending to the real economy and especially to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), enhancing the competitiveness of Croatian MSME sector in the advent of the country’s EU accession.

Société Générale Splitska Banka d.d., the sixth largest bank in Croatia, 100 per cent owned by Société Générale S.A. Paris.

Categorised FI: Société Générale Splitska Banka will be required to comply with PRs 2 and 9, adopt and implement the EBRD's Environmental and Social Procedures for Corporate Lending and submit Annual Environmental and Social Reports to the Bank.
