Zbigniew Kominek

Zbigniew Kominek is the EBRD's Managing Director for Finance. He is responsible for the Bank’s financial and operational strategic planning, financial policies, budget and financial reporting.

Dr Kominek joined the Bank in 2003 and worked in several roles in the Office of the Chief Economist and the Risk Management department, including as Director, Risk Policy and Analytics, in charge of quantitative risk models, model validation, stress-testing, risk data analysis and the Bank's risk policy framework.

Before joining the EBRD, he worked as an economic consultant on the regulation of network utilities and competition issues in the United Kingdom.

Dr Kominek holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Leicester (UK), an MA in Banking and Finance and an MSc in Quantitative Methods and Information Systems from the Warsaw School of Economics (Poland), and an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
