Melis Ekmen Tabojer

Melis Ekmen Tabojer was appointed Managing Director for Policy, Strategy and Delivery within the EBRD's Vice Presidency for Policy and Partnerships in February 2025. She oversees teams responsible for capital and financial market development, human capital, competitiveness and economic governance, the digital hub, and regional policy and strategy.

Ms Ekmen Tabojer joined the EBRD in 2009 as a Principal Banker in the Financial Institutions group in 2009. Having worked on the Belarus, Moldova, Türkiye, Southern and Eastern Mediterranean and Western Balkans teams, she spent a year with the Corporate and Project Finance Credit Risk Department as Senior Risk Officer in 2019. She was subsequently appointed Director, Insurance and Financial Services and, in 2021, as Director, EU Banks and Structured Finance. During her time in that role, she led a large team, delivering significant business volume while maximising the impact of investments through policy dialogue, spanning capital and financial market development and the green economy. Ms Ekmen Tabojer was a Board member at Union Bank Albania between 2017 and 2022.

Prior to joining the EBRD, Ms Ekmen Tabojer was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley Financial Institutions Group Mergers and Acquisitions, having previously worked in the bank's Fixed Income Securitised Products Group and Standard Chartered Bank’s Asset Securitisation Group in London. She began her career in Istanbul, Türkiye, at Ottoman Bank. 

Ms Ekmen Tabojer holds an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School.
