Maxim Chupilkin

Associate Economist


Maxim Chupilkin is an Associate Economist at the EBRD Office of the Chief Economist. At EBRD, Maxim works in the Global Economics team where he focuses on international political economy and macroeconomics for the Regional Economic Prospects and the Transition Report.

Maxim is currently pursuing a part-time DPhil (Ph.D.) in International Relations at the University of Oxford. He holds an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago and B.A. in Economics from New Economic School and Higher School of Economics.

Prior to joining the EBRD, Maxim worked at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, University of Chicago and Higher School of Economics. His research interests include the effect of international politics on trade, finance and economic development.
