Turkey became an EBRD country of operations in October 2008.
EBRD President Thomas Mirow and Minister of State for Turkey Mehmet Simsek announce the news at a press conference in Istanbul.
The press conference was held during the World Economic Forum on Europe and Central Asia (30 October - 1 November) in Istanbul.
Thomas Mirow told the media that the EBRD would help to enhance the resilience of the Turkish economy in times of economic downturn.
The EBRD plans to invest close to US$ 600 million in Turkey between 2009 and 2010.
